It’s been a little quiet on the blog lately, as you may have noticed. I have been hard at work, trying to finish my master’s thesis. I would love to tell you all about the work that I have been doing, but I have been banned from talking about it in detail on the internet until we have published over it, so that will have to wait.
However, to tide you over until the point that I can tell you all the gritty details about life as a data visualization researcher, I am embarking on a new project. I have been doing a lot of reading lately–both for my thesis work, and for the Visual Analytics course I am taking this semester. While some of the papers I’ve covered are highly specific and probably not of much interest to anyone not doing my research, others are canonical visualization papers that are both enjoyable reads and a good introduction to the discipline. So, I’ll be posting summaries and commentary on some of the papers as I come across ones that you might enjoy.
